Getting high on memories and tunes....

I don't really do 'reminiscing 'much.

It's just not my mind set, not the way I'm built.

Looking forwards, is where my focus tends to be.

But today I found myself listening to some old classic house tunes. Stuff i haven't listened to for a long time

Obviously some kind of psychosomatic experience - (is that the right word?)- but after blowing my brains out with some classic tunes today that I used to party to.... I got a 'high' again...

..... a tickle of the 'ecstasy high' I felt decades ago, (almost every week in truth, for years).
I haven't touched 'e' for a couple of decades, and so it came as a bit of a surprise (a nice one though).

....back to reminiscing and my first MDMA experience ...

1995 ( might be '94. Not important).

The place:
Wanchai, Hong Kong - I can't remember the name of the bloody pub though.....

I had a problem with 'E'. A big one.
I was uptight about taking it for some reason - and this is most definitely not conducive to this particular narcotic.

I had tried it it 3 or 4 times previously, and got nothing from it. In the slightest.
(which was very annoying when I could see all the people around me, having a wild time on it).

But, being the hedonistic trooper that I was at the time - I thought I would give it another go....what a hero!

I was not a stranger to dabbling in various recreational drugs during my travels. Grass, magic mushrooms, LSD, amphetamine, coke.
I can honestly say I had a great time on them. Much nicer than alcohol.

....back to the bar in Hong Kong - which I still can't remember the name of...

We were due to go clubbing with my girlfriend and a group of friends this particular night, when my girlfriend produced some pills...
She assured me the 'E' she had obtained was - in her words- 'they're the bleedin' bollox' (she was Irish.)

Translation? 'they are the very, very best'.

'Ok,' I thought, 'let's give it a go - yet again'.
I wasn't too optimistic of anything happening, to be honest.

Always one to take anything seriously - even my partying - I though I'd take some LSD (a very small amount), to try and 'help it along'.
My reasoning being that it's obviously my mental attitude, to as why it wasn't affecting me.

Seeing as LSD is a psychotropic drug (makes you see things), it might help me 'open the doors in my mind' so to speak.

The beer garden!!!!!

....... that's the name of the pub! (or possibly cellar)
It had lot's of beer, but no garden -and it was in a cellar.

Anyway - LSD taken, and a couple of drinks - and then the 'E' was swallowed .

....30 minutes later my girlfriend was touching me up and stroking my arms, with pupils wider than Stormy Daniels on interview.

' nothing?' She asked, sadly. (as sad as you can be on 'e'.)
'Nope,' I replied. 'I'm feeling the LSD a little, though...'

And then I felt it.......

WOW!- OMFG - WOW. it was like someone had put a pleasure rocket in my brain, and ignited it. It was fantastic!

5 minutes later, we were all dancing in the bar.

An interesting observation...
I had always disliked dancing - uptight, self conscious , whatever...up until then. That night.
I found rhythm for the first time in my life...
...And since that night until present day - with or without any drink or drugs - I absolutely
love dancing!

We never made it to the night club that night, we spent the night dancing in the bar.

.....And having lot's and lots - and lots- of sex in the toilets ( I was also incredibly horny, btw. )

Fortunately we were regulars in the bar, and staff politely reminded myself and my girlfriend with a sign posted onto the door, that read....

...WOULD S***** AND K*** PLEASE STOP FUCKING IN THE TOILETS - SOME OF US NEED TO PEE!..

.....and that was my very first time I 'came up' on 'e'.......

A very apt name for the narcotic, and a very wild night.
