San Francisco Blockchain Run.
Yesterday we drove up to the city of San Francisco to attend a crypto underground event. @happymoneyman and I have been going to quite a few blockchain and cryptocurrency gatherings in the area. I was excited for this one because it was a fire side chat with Monica Quaintance who currently leads Engineering and Adoption Strategy at Kadena, a massively-parallelized Proof of Work blockchain platform who is going to be releasing their white page this Friday according to rumors. (I looked at their website, the founders worked for JP Morgan not a big fan of that) Her resume was extensive and intimidating, it was awesome to have a woman in this world who was smart, capable and pushing the boundaries of what a blockchain is and what it can be. She was completely inspiring.
It was moderated by Miko Matsumura (Cofounder at Evercoin Cryptocurrency Exchange) who is a wonderful chill human being and a hysterical character in general. He used the game of thrones as analogy for the different coins in crypto and how they are contenders for being big players in the ever evolving blockchain world we have been swept into. He kept it funny and light hearted and while asking a lot of tough questions. I learned a lot, and laughed a lot at Mikos antics.
Walking back to our camper Chug I realized how much I have learned since joining steemit. I used to pride myself in not having anything to do with computers. I started so late that starting the process of learning was so vast and scary. How do you even start? I was never interested in technology until the blockchain. It was the first thing that I have seen that could be a solution for so many problem that seemed impossible to fix before. A way to collectively be free and raise humanity up together. I am fascinated, and slowly I am starting to understand it. It happened out of my excitement, curiosity bloomed and learning became fun instead of tedious.
I am beginning to wonder if I could dive even deeper. Can a wilderness girl who is starting from scratch have a part in this world? What direction should I take and what value do I have to give to this world?
I am excited for the uncertain future, how it unfolds and changes everyday. We are in the pure creation stage, how beautiful it is.
Thanks for reading my blog, if you liked this post lets be friends and follow me.
You could create a SMT called Ren coin - for wilderness chicks :)))
"Bringing blockchain to the backcountry " - it even sounds catchy :P
Haha! That is super catchy!

Thank you! Check out meetup in your area, that is where I find most of mine. The events are great places to learn everyone is really excited to talk and share ideas.
awesome! I been looking at eventbrite but i will check it out! thx
I haven't been to any blockchain related events yet. I've been meaning to go to the Silicon Valley Bitcoin meetup in Sunnyvale, but always procrastinated. It's on Tuesday evenings, like once a month.
There is a ton all around this part of the world, I encourage you to go they are really interesting and a big bonus to living in this area. It seems like there is a few per week if you are willing to drive a bit. I am looking forward to a steemit meetup. Those are a little harder to find and always fun.
Let me know if your ever heading into the South Bay Area for a future crypto gathering! I've seen some big names in the industry have spoken at the Silicon Valley meet.
I will check that out! I will let you know. We are going to one tonight in SF it is a big bitcoin meetup (it is listed on meetup.com) I think they do it once a month. The SF crypto people are really interesting group. I hope to meet you at one, that would be really cool. I will register for your area on meetup, you are just over the hill from us.
Scratch that, tonight is the steemit blockchain meetup in Oakland. I got mixed up the bitcoin is next Tuesday :)
