Hi there steemians! Welcome to my daily science trivia! this fact is more likely about the animal kingdom, lets talk about how does a cow chew its cud? Many thousands of years ago, there were certain animals who couldnt prtotect themselves very well against their predators, in order to survive, these animals developed a special way of eating. they would snatch some food whenever they could, swallow it quickly without chewing and run away to hide when they were safe in thier hiding place, they would chew the food at their leisure. some present day animals, such as cows still eating stil eat this way, it is called chewing the cud and the animals are called ruminants , this way of eating is possible beacause such animals have complicated stomachs with 5 compartments, each of these compartments processes the food.
