Convertible vintage pieces that transform before your eyes

in #blog7 years ago

Let's face it: sometimes making a decision is tough, especially when it comes to what we wear. Should I go with [this] or should I go with [that]? Colors, styles, fabrics, and more, choices can become overwhelming. These vintage pieces might make your decision-making a little easier, and each offers more than one option in each!

Take the beautiful cyan-green formal dress from the 1950s (above), for example. It's a shift dress...but it has a matching bubble-hem outer skirt for a fuller, fancier look, too! A simple series of hidden hook-and-eye clasps at the waist, and the dress converts from one look to another, similarly to this next dress...

A form-fitting vintage 1950s copper sheath dress becomes fuller at the hips with its matching overskirt with a layer of tulle. The set even comes with the matching veil headpiece! Such a fun set!

Speaking of fun...if these aren't the most fun and unique thing you've seen all year...these Italian sandals from the 1970s transform into roller skates! Wheels hide up inside until the little lever is pulled, and easily go back into hiding when you're finished joy riding.

Not only can you convert neat vintage pieces on your feet, you can also convert things you hold with your hands. This vintage clutch purse from the 1960s has a red cover...

...that can be removed with an easy snap to change the color to compliment your outfit!

Options are good, which is why this beautiful red vintage 1970s sundress and its matching bell-sleeved bolero are perfect for a summer soirée.

If your current season is a spring or autumn, this vintage velour jacket from the 1970s goes from a peacoat to a trench with a matching zippered panel added to the bottom.

And then, there's the mini dress. I'm addicted to them. Especially the ones you can wear with matching pants to switch it up a bit, like this adorable two-piece tapestry set from the late 1960s.

Or this fantastic 1970s two-piece all-lace mini dress with matching high-waist palazzo pants!

Of course, special occasions such as weddings often call for a transformable look—a formal train for the ceremony that is easily removable for the reception. This gorgeous Victorian-inspired wedding dress from the 1960s has a complimentary ivory-satin train that attaches at the waist with four hidden snaps.

Or this longer train on another stunning 1960s wedding gown that attaches higher on the back.

Whatever the occasion, convertible vintage pieces give you more than one look, and hopefully some peace of mind. Now you don't have to decide!
