The largest flower in the world has flourished again in Basel, Switzerland. This monstrous plant has the largest flower in the world at a height of 2.27 meters and it blooms for only a few days every few years. On November 19 , 2012 he flourished again in a botanical garden.

Titanium Arum (Amorphophallus titanum), which inhabits Sumatra springs, is not only the largest flower in the world - it is also one of the most ridiculous. The flowers of this giant spread have an unpleasant odor that reminds of the decomposition of meat. Titan Arum is a spectacular and very rare flower. Some people travel around the world hoping to see Titan at a glance. So far, there are only 150 captured flowers of this flower, which is very small when compared to millions of other flowers.

The first Europlanin who discovered the monster was an Italian botanist and researcher Dr. Odoardo Beccari in Indonesia in 1878. The popular name Titan Arum was invented by the director and naturalist Sir David Attenborough for the needs of his TV series "The Private Life of the Plants", where the flowering and pollination of this plant was first made. Attenborough changed the original Latin name, Amorphophallus, because he thought the pronunciation of this word on TV could be misunderstood.

The Swiss botanical garden was fortunate enough to have two such flowers, which flourished twice in just 18 months. The last time Titan Arum flourished in April 2011. Prior to that, the plant flourished in Switzerland back in 1936.

The flower has attracted some 25,000 brave visitors, who have managed to bear the terrible smell of this, the largest, flower in the world.

If you ever get lucky enough to give you a chance to see this flower, do not miss it. See the largest, the rarest, the most dazzling flower on Earth, which lasts for only a few days every few years - it is certainly an opportunity that comes only once in a lifetime.
