We’re launching an IKO (Initial Karma Offering)
In the past days, a bizarre story became viral on various social media platforms: a couple from Jacksonville, Florida, was supposedly arrested for “selling golden tickets to heaven.”
Somewhere in between Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket and a medieval indulgence, the story was too good to be true, and in a matter of hours, fact checking website Snopes called it out as fake news. Sad. So sad.
Golden tickets to heaven might not be available just yet, but what you can already do is start earning some karma points that will grant you full access to the golden gates of paradise.
Every good deed means one step towards those fancy gates. At the same time, every bad thing you do means a step in the opposite direction. Yes, more or less like how it is in The Good Place.
And by “bad thing” we don’t just mean “really bad things” like kicking puppies, even boarding a dozen flights per year counts. The road to hell is paved with carbon footprints
So, to make sure you get to live your after-life in the Good Place, you can’t just do good: you need to “do good better.” You need to maximize your impact.
That’s why, here at Kinder, we’re launching an IKO, namely an Initial Karma Offering.
In our IKO, there are no digital tokens but different projects that will help you in maximizing your positive impact on the world.
For example, did you know that a donation to the highly-effective charity Cool Earth
can offset the carbon footprint you create from flying regularly?
As for the name, we’re calling it an “IKO” for three simple reasons.
Because we want to involve all donors in our cause. We don’t want to be a top-down initiative; on the contrary, we want to bridge the gap between charitable organisations and the people who are interested in the world of doing good.
Because it’s a name that reflects our innovative spirit and the way we want to use tech to create social impact.
Because it’s cool.
