Today's Weed News for April 5th 2018 - Employers -

Today's weed news is all about employers, cannabis and your rights.

Did you know despite having a medical marijuana card you can still it's get in trouble with your employer for coming up positive for THC metabolites on a drug test?

In fact, out of the 29 States that allow MMJ, only five of them have laws protecting medical patients from being descriminated against at work for having cannabis in their system.

These states are Arizona, Delaware, Maine, Minnesota, and New York State. Surprisingly, Colorado, Oregon, Washington California do not appear on this list.

Fortunately the Great State of California, where medical marijuana started over 22 years ago, has two legislators working on a bill that would create a special category for medical marijuana card holders. the bill would make it illegal for employers in Cali to mess with people in this category for having weed in their system.

I personally hope that such protections will be enacted in all medical marijuana states before long, because losing your job for taking your medicine just seems like some real bullshit!
