A Siberian Husky Snow Day.
A snow storm they have called 'Emma' or the 'Beast from the East' has hit the UK this week.
Last night it decided to hit my part of the UK big time.
We woke this morning to the wonderful view of everything white and the even better news, that the kids school was closed.
It's official ....
SNOW DAY
My husband was sadly able to get to work, over the fields on his bike. But not before he and fluffy baby went for a quick run.
My daughter, fluffy baby and I spent most of the morning sledging in the back garden. Well the girls and I did. Fluffy baby spent the morning running around us getting very excited.
Sadly due to the snowy weather our canicross race has been cancelled this weekend and I am building myself up to walking to the shops to get something in for tea, tonight. As I can't get my car off the drive.
Siberian winds of up to 60 mph are set to continue to hit the UK.
Where as I, just got hit by a very excited Siberian Husky in the snow.
Dogs can smell about 1,000 times better than humans. While humans have 5 million smell-detecting cells, dogs have more than 220 million. The part of the brain that interprets smell is also four times larger in dogs than in humans.
So much fun!
Man, this makes me miss my Malamute, Zacchaeus. We don't get much winter weather here in Oklahoma, but when we did, he would not go inside. He'd be laying in the yard, not in the doghouse, ice all over his chest, looking dead, I'd tap the window and he'd open one eye, as if to ask, why are you disturbing my lovely nap? Beautiful dog!
