Be prepared for the worst, but hope & work for the best [Part 2]
I consider myself lucky in work.
I may not have made lots of money, but I have never been short of 'work'
Opportunities (good or bad doesn't matter) have always been knocking on my door.
I have been working since I was 18, and finished my University during working, so it is not something that scares me.
So, after I left my (for many years job - that I admit, I loved), a very interesting opportunity came to my door way.
I was talking to someone I knew and we were discussing internet, growth etc .. so he was like "I am thinking of investing in internet, but I am not sure how to do it or, who I should find for me to do it"
When you see a chance, you need to grab it by its hair. Immediately.
So this is what I did. I said, Yes, of course! It is a great idea and I can help you make the most of your business!
He agreed, we discussed a bit about salaries which would be a small monthly wage and a commission based on sales!
So excited!
I got to have a new baby (a business) and started nursing it. I devoted almost of my day time into making it popular, through a variety of ways. I knew that when people connect with a brand, it helps elevate sales. Which brings reviews, which brings more satisfied customers and more sales, and so on.
I managed to bring the business (plus his other businesses) out in the open
Increased profits hundreds of percent on a year to year basis
And then, December 28th I call him to ask something regarding some formalities of my job and he goes ...
"Hi Katerina, oh.. I forgot to tell you.. As of January 1st I will not be needing you any more. I got this person XXXX that will help out with your things. Can you please show him what he needs to do?"
Surprised? So was I
Angry? A lot
Disappointed? Oh, you can't guess how much
Feelings Hurt? Too much
Pocket Empty? Totally
Because I did not get a cent of any commissions ever due - lost it all.
BUT
This was a very good reason to change my way thinking.
I got to search all freelancing tools, platforms etc and then I came to steem

Will be posted on steem too
Looks like you had a rough time but everything happens for a reason.
I quit my daily job a couple of months ago to commit 100% into Steem and @steemskate and I am feeling super-fresh and creative these past 2 months.
Chase your dreams @katerinaramm
I was in a similar position years ago.
And I promised to myself never work to develop other people's businesses , only mine. :)
Totally agree, except that some people pay me to do that :P
So, I do that as I grow my business too!
I also get to choose more wisely now ;)
Thanks for visiting!

For me steem community had been good so far although it really is a hard work but at least I am with my lovedones all the time while earning a bit to sustain my medical needs.
