Things I Like To Do On Weekends | Steemit - New Addition To The List | Family Time, Sleep & Movies

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

A deserving break to relax and recover from the daily grind that’s taken a toll on my mind and body - That’s my definition of a ‘perfect’ weekend.

Monday tops my list of “The Worst Days of The Week”, solely because it’s 'get-back-to-work' day while Saturday is my favorite. Friday and Sunday are a close 2nd and 3rd. Fridays are mostly about winding up work early and planning for an awesome weekend ahead, while Sundays constitute reminiscing the memories that were made, and preparing for the shit storm ahead.

Weekends are essentially breathers to catch up on more important aspects of life that are not spelled W O R K.

So I use my weekends to…

1. Spend some quality time with the family

Five days a week, I just get to see my family. Getting to interact with them properly is mostly reserved for the weekends - when I have some real time to hear them talk about the things they did and the experiences they had.

An actual conversation is to be had when my mind in focused only on the person, and it’s a luxury I cannot afford on other days.

It feels great when I have more time on my hands to dedicate to the family.

2. Catch up on some sleep

Oh I adore sleeping! It’s more intoxicating than a bottle of vodka (well at least, for me) because I can’t seem to get enough of it.

They say sleep helps heal the body, stimulates learning, and all the scientific mumbo jumbo. But personally, I believe sleep is the only time that I get to be at peace with myself. It’s the time when my brain is not running at 100 miles an hour trying to figure out what to do with my life. No Sir, it’s time to relax, lie back and go into a space where I don’t judge myself constantly on my successes and failures.

And if I’m able to catch one of those adventurous dreams where I usually go on nice daring mission like Tom ‘Mission Impossible’ Cruise, then it’s going to be a fun ride and maybe, Ill get a plot point for my next book. Win-Win!

3. Watch Movies and Binge Watch TV Shows

The number of Movies/TV Show episodes being released is definitely not proportional to the time we have to watch them. So weekends are the perfect time to go crazy watching all the must-see Movies and those TV-shows for which you've already read those goddamn spoilers.

Popcorn, soda and non-stop entertainment - sounds like the perfect recipe for a day well spent.

And a new addition to this list of my weekend guilty pleasures is:

4. Steemit

I don't think I’ve encountered a more friendly, helpful and positive community anywhere else, one that’s so inviting and accepting. The atmosphere is one that allows people to thrive. And it encourages individuality.

There is so much information to be had, crypto-talk and apart, that you just don’t have enough time to read up. And you meet so many wonderful people sharing virtual smiles and hugs. Steemit isn’t just a revolutionary social media website, steemit is a community that we should all be proud to be a part of.
