Spiderman into the spider verse!
The movies have always seemed to me something great, since I was a child I used to consume a lot of movies and especially animated films but as I was growing my tastes were mutating, I was having a wider spectrum. Today you can say that I see any kind of genre and not only that, I enjoy the cinema and all those aspects that make it up without being a scholar of the subject.
The film that I bring to you today as you could see in the title is Spiderman: A new universe, this movie of our arachnid friend is something different, the people of Columbia, Sony and Marvel knew how to give the public something new that earned the admiration of many, something complicated considering all the Spiderman movies that are hanging around despite that, if I'm not mistaken, is the first animated Spiderman movie that take in a long time or at least with this magnitude. Today we will talk a little about this movie, the things that I liked and the things that I loved, things that seemed extraordinary to me, so let's go for it.
History of the new universe!
When I saw the premise of the story in the trailer I must confess that I was struck by multiple universes and a lot of Spiderman together? who was not going to hook that story. And once I saw the movie, I realized that everything went beyond, but without letting the simple thing of the matter become something fantastic. The story focuses on our protagonist, Miles Morales, a boy from New York who admires Spiderman and leads a normal life like all kids his age; Miles son of African-American father and Latin mother gives a special touch to the character, who has an innate self-confidence and charisma.
As expected in history converge two major dilemmas in the life of Miles. In adolescence he is the typical young man misunderstood by his father, who begins a new stage in his life going to an Elite Institute, where he feels out of place. Morales was happy in his neighborhood, with his friends and old school, eating pizza, doing street art (graffiti) and enjoying the company of his uncle, who is his example to follow. Already at this point in history the character begins to connect in the public and as time passes generates that empathy that both creators of this film look for.
And then the rest is amazing, not to spoil I'll save details, in full fight of the Spiderman against the people of Kingpin activates a device that allows them to walk between other dimensions, Miles itches the spider and begins the best story of the arachnid universe I've seen it in a long time. A special touch that supports this story is the way in which it presents you to it, the narrative is simply perfect and is something that supports this good story.
Animation and soundtrack!
What can I say about the animation? is that perfect combination between a comic and an animation by stop-motion, is something that explodes the head sometimes to the spectators with those colorful moments that are presented to us on the big screen, which in many cases borders on the psychedelic but without abuse the resource. Among the reviews and compositions that I read of the film, the most interesting thing to note that I found was the "The cycle of the hero through the framerate" </ em> is something that took place in this film where the story of Miles is counted in about 12 frames per minute, despite this the animation looks good, but the moment that Miles gets the mastery of his powers the frames increase to 24 per second, both he and his surroundings. These small things make the difference and let you see the change that although we do not know what it was (in addition to the domain of the powers) the animation changes and is granted another fluidity to the character. If you are interested in reading more about this I leave a link at the end of the post for you to browse.
The soundtrack in the film are very timely, accompany the moment or the feeling that is experienced at that moment. Music is the icing on the cake for the character, a guy who likes to do graffiti and who listens to a kind of rap with pop, modern rhythms but not invasive or annoying, they happen to play a fundamental part in the story and the character itself. For me the best moment of the film and the one of ecstasy inside this work of art, is when Miles achieves the famous "leap of faith" managing to dominate the arachnid powers. Here below I will leave the video of the scene along with the song that accompanies it.
The song that sounds is "What's Up Danger" by Blackway & Black Caviar, that although it's not Sunflower that is the character's song, it's my favorite and the one that is part of the best moment in the movie so I hope you like them and know how to enjoy it as much as I do.
The cherry on the cake!
When we sit down to watch a movie we expect two things, or at least I expect two things. The first one is entertainment, that the movie that I see generates emotions that connect, that makes me have a different and enjoyable time. The second thing that I hope for at the end of a film is a teaching, capable not explicitly on the part of the film but at the end of the feature film to be able to get something good or bad that allows me to grow as a person. In this film of Spiderman leave a very good reflection and as always by the hand of Stan Lee could not expect less. There are couple of phrases that I rescued from this film and that are there in the ears of the entire public.
The first one is: "That person who helps others just because he wanted and because it is the right thing to do, is, without a doubt, a true superhero" This phrase helps us understand that only with helping and doing the right thing at a certain moment already makes you a true hero and without counting powers or with all the paraphernalia that surrounds these characters of cinema. While the second sentence is that "anyone can use the mask" this phrase goes hand in hand with the first and simply turns everything around, making us believe that a superhero always lives inside us.
I hope you liked this post and if you have not seen the movie yet, go and see it, but if you have already done so, I await your comments about it. We will be reading in another installment, when we talk about "How to train your Dragon 3" the end of a trilogy that I love.
