Gun License Proposal
Here is my proposal for Americas 2nd amendment laws. Not a fix by itself but will dramatically reduce all gun violence.
As u see above i have tweeted our president my idea.
All gun purchases will require a gun license. similar to a drivers license. How do you get a gun license you ask?
Gun License has 3 phases for aproval.
Phase 1 is a simple background check at your local police station. Fingerprint check and extensive research with all agencies. If approved you take your phase 1 completed paperwork to phase 2. Phase 1 can take up to 7 days.
Phase 2 is a basic psych evaluation by a local trained professional. Similar to what trained police might go through in the hiring process.
Phase 3 is something that should be implemented already. A basic Gun Safety course of at least 8 hrs and have general knowledge of handling firearms as well as using it effectively.
Once all 3 phases are completed you are given a Gun Owner License that allows you to buy and sell any firearm.
In my opinion not a single sane person would object to this proposal and it is easy to see how effective it could be.

Agreed. All people should be allowed to drive as well..... except the blind, and clinically insane, after passing a driving test. No problem with guns. One should be properly trained before access. It's not guns, it's the broken system that is the problem. With internet tech today you can't tell me all departments shouldnt be linked into one main hub. It's not rocket science. Don't need a shit ton more laws either. Need the ability to enforce and enact the ones we already have before we add more laws as they cant properly enforce the ones we already have. Banning any and or all guns is 100% not a viable option.

My only objection to this proposal is the "any firearm" portion. Allowing license holders to purchase and carry any firearm with the universal license could pose problems to society. Due to the vast differences in capabilities of different firearms, I would suggest separate systems depending on the class of firearm that the citizen wishes to obtain; deadlier weapons require more rigorous background checks/training. Despite this, I don't believe the base level training for handguns or firearms with limited potential capability should become weak or insufficient in any way.
This would be a license to own, purchase, and sell. Concealed Carry would remain seperate. You would also keep the same class system as far as what your avg citizen can own. Still no sawed off shotguns or full auto. Change nothing but the fact you need a license to own, purchase, or sell. Surely some worded details would be needed but this is just a 3 phase outline.
We have Drivers License which a written and driving test must be passed.
Fishing and Hunting License which both carry hefty penalties and hunting requires testing nowadays.
Why not a Gun License? Simple Testing along with real background fingerprint ss# full id check.
Ive bought many guns and for all anyone who ever sold to me knows i don't even know how to load it when I left. One of the deadliest manmade objects ever I was able to purchase with Zero safety training.
Good thing I grew up in a Pro Gun Household and learned the do's and dont's well before gradeschool.
Some gunowners i know are good and confident like myself when it comes to handling firearms.
But others I know scare the shit out of me with a gun in their hands because they truly are clueless.
At the range holding the pistol across the body at the line of shooters instead of down range for instance.
Should never happen but these people are not properly trained. How many Innocent people are killed by gun accidents a year? Cause they don't know any better. Nobody ever taught them. Imagine if our driving laws didn't require a license.......
