A Day in Lexington Michigan
Our Family Enjoyed a Day Out
While we are usually home-bodies, we occasionally have the opportunity to travel. This Sunday, we enjoyed a trip out to Lexington Michigan.
We enjoyed most of the day at the beach.
My brother-in-law has a cottage near Lexington and a community beach nearby.
The girls enjoyed the big inflatable.

The water was crystal clear.
We visited Downtown Lexington for Lunch
Lexington is a beautiful little village with a trendy down town. We ate at Sweetwater and the food was excellent.

That was where we went to have my youngest daughter's senior pics done. I had a friend who was just starting out in the photography business and she took all the pics... downtown near the surf boards and with the old brick buildings! Those pics were awesome!
Wonder if I can find some of them
This was my first time downtown Lexington. My parents stayed at a B&B and invited us for the afternoon. It was a fun day, we topped it all off with ice cream. @ironshield
It is such a great place to visit...
I used to live in that general area and we would head over to Port Sanilac (about 20 minutes north of Lexington) where my in-laws had 10 acres and we'd camp there.
When my youngest daughter graduated from high school she wanted her pics done on a beach and other cool places and we all thought Lexington was PERFECT!
We would walk along the break wall too... ahhh such memories!

howdy back @ironshield! my my look at those photos of the ocean..wow. and my gosh the size of the inflatable! don't tell me you blew THAT thing up with your lungs..nah I ain't never been to a cool seaside village like Lexington. that will have to go on my bucket list!
I should have clarified, Lexington is on Lake Huron. A lake so big, it looks like an ocean, but completely fresh water. We used an aircompressor for that giant inflatable. No amount of lung power to fill that thing up! @ironshield
howdy back @ironshield! yes sir I actually knew that it was a lake but when I saw it and it looked like the ocean I typed ocean, ha! Not that far from Cleveland where we lived close to and not that far from Fort Wayne which I lived close to.
that sure looked like a fun day. If I was in Michigan I would do ALOT of that in the next few weeks before it starts getting cool!

Heh, we have more than a few weeks before it starts getting cool. Considering we're in a 90-degree streak, cool doesn't sound all that bad...but we don't really cool off until October, typically.
oh ok, well I just don't trust that Michigan weather!
That is an impressive inflatable! It must take an hour to fill. It does look very safe for the kids!

We ate at a really nice restaurant in that building, they had chalkboards for the children to play with - they thought that was great! @ironshield
