Thought Police Win: Google Fires Author of Divisive Memo on Gender Differences
Unsure how many of you read about this memo at Google from this guy. I was reading about it last night. Apparently he was fired today. That was expected but it's a shame because realistically he was just sharing his views.
Google does everything it can to diversify but they still can't hire enough minorities or women to fill need of qualified workers. Google fires a guy for believing they are failing because those applying don't qualify and yet, Google doesn't hire under qualified applicants to fill gender quotas.
Personally I think it's all about being politically correct and avoiding lawsuits.
It's a shame. Or should I say sham?
Corporations will always go as far as to ruin someone's life just to save face. They only fired the guy so they can say they did something when people ignorantly try to see it as a company value...
Honestly it bugs the hell out of me that every company nowadays wants to be 100% politically correct so they don't offend anyone.
The whole deal with SJW's and safe spaces is retarded. I am willing to put money on the fact that the average person in 2017 would appreciate a company more if they stood their ground.
The truth is that companies like google for example should hire based solely on qualifications. Race, gender and descent should have nothing to do with it.
The sad reality is as you said though, they try to diversify and be as politically correct as possible to avoid "outrage" and lawsuits.
I hope people will soon start to realize that sugarcoating everything is toxic to society. Sometimes the truth is offensive, people have to learn to deal with that instead of whining about it.
I wish people would realize that having requirements of hiring certain genders or races, instead of purely on qualifications, is racist and sexist at it'a core.
