Good day guys,

Yes, blogging is BIG business-let no man deceive you about that. But from my little observation, some us are still trying to identify what the blogging business is all about.
The common mistake some us are making is thinking about blogging on steemit.com as a money making platform...aka get-rich-quick platform.
No! If you have that notion you may phase out naturally with time. Its more than that. In this article and subsequent ones that will follow, I will make an attempt to help some of us on what to do to be able to run a successful blogging business on this platform.
Now, sit back and read this reminders below. Jot down some important notes and be ready to ask ANY question related to blogging and how to succeed.
Market Research And Analysis - Finding Your Audience :
Many people believe that you can function or blog very well and make money doing what you love or simply put blogging about your hobby. I see many internet marketers teaching these concepts all the time.
Most times, students who take after these teachings fail woefully, because sometimes your hobby may not make you money. You may have devoted fans, but if these fans do not have a problem that your hobby solves, you don't stand any chance of making any money.
Let me tell you a secret. Nobody cares about what your hobby is or what you like doing.
People only care about what they can get from you. How can your information help them.
It’s a selfish world. You need to play to this selfishness of people and give them as much as you can before you can expect to get anything in return.
So, instead of going after your hobby, I would suggest you look for a problem that you can help people solve and be passionate about that niche.
The bottom line is, you need to find a crowd that has a NEED that need desperate solution. You are to fill the gap between the NEED and The SOLUTION.
In other words, you are the solution provider. As bloggers, our job is to provide solutions to people’s problems.
This is one area many people have problem with. And the truth is if you get this wrong the first time, all the efforts you put in setting up a blog and driving traffic to it, is purely a waste of time.
So you must strive to get it right the first time. You will really need to spend some quality time to do the research to find out where you can provide a solution to a pressing problem.
Here is a clue to large umbrella of topics that you can work within to find that elusive niche market that you will provide solution to:
- Wealth Creation, Money and Investment
- Relationship and Marriage
- Health and Fitness, etc.
80% of the money that is made online today is from the topics above, and each of them has several sub-topics as much as 100 or more sub-topics.
In the video that comes with this module, I shall take you through how you can access topics that might be of interest to you. You can go beyond this scope though.
But bear this in mind:
When looking for a target market, the people you are attempting to sell something to must satisfy these three vital criteria:
- They must be experiencing some kind of pain or irrational passion for the subject;
- They must be actively searching for solutions online;
- There must be very few perceived options they can go to solve the problem.
In other words, the people that you will build a niche on will be actively searching on the internet for answers to their problems because they have few perceived options available and they are desperate to find a solution.
If a person is not desperate to solve a problem, and does not go out of his comfort zone to look for answers or solutions to his problems, then there is no likelihood he will be willing to buy any product when he is asked to buy it because it is not a priority or pain point to him.
You must understand that concept while doing your market research.
Take note that you can function in any niche market that you set your heart on, as long as you have the interest and passion to pursue it. You don't need to be an expert to start providing solution to people.
When you start out, your intention is not to be an expert, but overtime as you continue to provide solution to people, you will be perceived as one, and the truth is eventually, you will gradually, overtime know more than 90% of your audience about that topic which is close to expert status anyway.
And this is because you will be doing a lot of online research to come up with helpful topics to write on which will help them to solve their problems through your free blog posts.
In my next article, I will focus on ways to locate a profitable niche market to feature in your blog.
Thank you so much for your time. If you have learned anything from this post and you may like to resteem it, you are very free to do that
Shalom,
