The art of the Star Wars (SWtoR) - Character-turn-around concept art

in #blog8 years ago (edited)

Today is a story and pics from my favorite part of the artbook, concepr art again and character-turn-around sketches.

If you played the game you've recognized this guy. This is how he looked before he appeared in the game. To create character animation animator has to have the character from different poins of view (3D model). On the first line you can see the seeking of the right armor, or it's different variations. This is a companion NPS, so some modifications are handy. In battle you must see who of these guys is your guy:)

I think I can look at pics like that forever. Ork kind, huh?:) OK, no orks in SWtoRm but I see them everyehere. A good artbook is like a study book for an artist. This also is a concept art that was later inquired in the game.

Now what I said about character-turn-around. Here's nearly the whole sheet, I messed only the back (it's too hard to take photos of the pages when artbook has a great paper, and this one is really of a good quality).

Too much light, but I think I made my point. This also is a NPC companion, but with lower amount of modifications because of the race. Here I love how the textures look: mild fur, and hard lines of the armor.

One more tiny NPC companion. Do you remember these guys from the movie? In the game when you play for a sith warrior there's a quest where you need to get nformation from them and you can "beat it out of them", or perform an additional quest to make them more talkative. I never was able to kill these creatures even in game, ha-ha:) So cute ones...

And the same creatures from the back.

One more concept I'd love to show here - the Dark Side corruption:

It's an interesting feature in the game if you play for the sith. Or for a dark side jedi, OK. I always played for tha sith warrior, so I know that stuff, how it looks in the game. The more dark you become - the more your eyes turn red, and your skin begins to cover with a vascular network around eyes and lips. My first Sith Lord ended up with a nickname "Miss Spooky eyes". At first I didn't understand what was happening, but then in the character modification window I found a check mark "show the Dark Side corruption". And everything became clear:)

Thank you for watching:)

Love, Inber
