One Corner: The dance step that is making people go crazy
According to this site, "dance" refers to the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of releasing energy, expressing an idea or emotion, or just as a result of simply taking delight in the movement itself.
Some higher animals, including humans employ dance in the release of powerful feelings, which include anger, joy, impatience, highspirits, et cetera.
A few days ago, I was heading home from school with some friends when one of them started singing a song(which I admit sounded and still sounds silly to me). Immediately, everyone around me held on to the closest object and started humping it. A commercial motorcycle popularly known as "Okada" in Nigeria had just pulled up and one of my friends immediately held on to the motorcycle and started humping it(I admit my choice of friends is not exactly top-notch).
I have to admit that upon seeing this, I thought my friends had gone cuckoo and therefore, I immediately moved forward so that I would not be seen as a mad man also. One of them later explained to me that the song, "One corner" was one which people were supposed to hold unto anything close to them and aggressively thrust their pelvic while holding on to a supporting object.
Upon arriving at my house, I checked out what the song was about and it still made no sense to me. What made this song more popular is that there is a challenge which is calling for dance videos to the song. The song, which originated in Ghana is making a lot of waves, with several people, even celebrities performing the "dance steps" to the song.

Just yesterday, I read a news about how some secondary school students are to face disciplinary action because they posted videos of them performing the "One corner" dance in a classroom.

Someone also died as a result of the dance. According to the onlookers, everyone assumed she was still dancing when she started jerking on the floor. Her family confirmed that she had a history of seizure sickness.
