Discussion: How much does YouTube reflect your reality?

I watch a variety of fringe content on YouTube. Everything from Anti Feminists, to Feminists, to Anti- and pro- immigration channels. The Young Turks, the David Pakman show, and Louder with Crowder. We can all get lost in YouTube personalities and stories of people getting “attacked” or something else happening on Twitter. It’s entertaining. No really, it is. But in your daily reality, how much does that actually reflect what you see in real life?

It may be more representative of your reality if you’re a University student, for instance, or if you live in an area where a lot of refugees or immigrants have settled. Maybe Europe really is as bad as the anti-immigration YouTubers make it? My English friend is actually cgoing ncerned about Brexit as he sees quite a few people moving out of England who make up the “working class” - and not enough English citizens willing to fill in the gaps. It’s an interesting difference to what I see Sargon and the like talk about when they speak about “their”England.

I lived in New Mexico and was always a “minority” growing up. Was there crime? Yes, but it was committed by the poor of every race, not just “the immigrants” like president Trump would have us believe.

Anyways, being a dad, I’m fairly insulated from a lot of the outside world except what I see at work or on the YouTube, so I figured I’d put this out there for the Steemit community.
