INTRODUCING “LARSIAN” IN FUENTE OSMEÑA TO THEM... | Cebu’s BBQ Place

in #blog8 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians!

When thinking about BBQ Place, one thing gets into my mind, “larsian”. Though a lot of places you can eat bbq but I’ve been here many times and their bbq’s taste is good and savory. Thinking about my student and her husband, I was a bit hesitant to introduce this place to them because they are foreigners maybe they have this tendency of getting sick but they said they want to try eating some bbq and some street foods. Larsian is located near Fuente Osmeña circle beside Chong Hua Hospital and near Robinsons Cybergate Mall.

When we were at the place their eyes were roaming around and amazed with the people and sellers’ voice calling them to be in their stores. In Japan, this is not a concept of a bbq place, they said it looks like a restaurant too but this place, they were amazed with people and different nationalities were even there. The brighg lights and colors, seeing the colorful fiesta paper flags from above and different stalls selling bbq, fish and some sea foods.

We ordered pork bbq, chicken bbq, chicken skin and chorizo. It was their first time to eat chorizo. When they ate chicken bbq, they remembered “yakitori” (焼き鳥) in Japan, grilled chicken skewers that has a bite size meat from different parts of the chicken. Chicken bbq here as they said was savory and delicious because of the sauce and the way it was cooked. Chorizo, pork sausage what they call and it’s different to them but they tasted it. They even surprised with the hanging rice because for them they were like toys, was laughing but I did explain about it.

This moment was their last day and night staying in Cebu, Philippines. They had to go back Japan for work, vacation was over and back to reality for them. They really had a good time here in the city. I was a bit sad, I always feel sad when it’s time to say goodbye but as what Peter Pan said, “Never say goodbye, because saying goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.” It’s not a goodbye but I’ll see them next time.

Thank you for checking my post. :)

Great job for being a great hostess and showing them a part of our culture. Food is one way of knowing more about a place and its people. I also admire people who are eager to learn about our culture by immersing themselves in what the local do.

@leeart . Thanks for checking my post. It’s my pleasure actually and the woman is my student and my friend. Would love to tour them and they loved the place . They actually had fun. Went to the beach and inteoduced them to some places too. ☺️ Yes, our culture is so different to them, as long as we respect and understand it then there’s actually a good relationship with diff nationalities .
