1.5 WHO ARE YOU? (Article)
Since our birth, we obtain knowledge and information through our five senses. We see and categories beautiful and ugly, we hear and distinguish the soothing and noisy, we smell, like the fragrance and dislikes the odours.
We touch and taste and differentiate again.
We become what these senses make us. We become what OUR society makes us, we learn whatever is taught to us and we misinterpret this conditioning of our mind with who we are! Whereas, we have no idea who we are. We have no idea of our true likes or dislikes, or even if we have any likes or dislikes. We are unaware of our real beliefs, our true perspective. We are just another puppet of this society. We think, the way we grasped, about the world around us. We need to open our eyes and stop fighting others to show them that we are right because "we" are still sleeping, unaware of the right and wrong & good and bad.
Our fights are vague, because our opinions are based on what our 5 senses stored in our mind so there is no point fighting for an opinion which was formed only because your situations were different from others. It is not YOUR perspective. It is just what your surroundings made you perceive.
So no matter who you think you are, whether Bill Gates or a poor, whether Trump or a citizen, whether literate or illiterate, muslim or hindu, boy or girl, young or old, a professor or a labour man. It doesn't matter !! Delete it all !! This is not the real you. This might be your opinion, your work, your assets but this is not you. And when you delete it all, then you will find who you really are.

Hmm, true. But I believe its not the 5 senses but the mind that makes all the trouble. Senses cannot function without the mind. And mind is nothing but the accumulation of various memories. Memories of Good-Bad, Like-Dislike, Experiences.
You are right Manish. Our mind is responsible for the judgements. Senses just carry the information and brings it to the mind. Our Functions of brain are divided in 4 divisions, manas (mind), chitta (memory storehouse) , ahamkara (ego) and buddhi (intelligence). The manas bring in the information and is responsible for our actions. People don't let the information process and reach till buddhi. They react too quickly on the level of manas itself. This information would be too deep for people to digest so I tried to cover it up in an easy manner. Its good that you were aware about it @manish.nanda.
Tat tvam asi, Thou art that principle which was existing prior to everything. We are That which is not definable in the terms "existence" or "non-existence" or any other categories. As you have said we are something else entirely outside of the shallow ideas of likes and dislikes, occupation, gender, ethnicity, nationality, personality, etc.
For most people to realize this causes great fear, so we must always cultivate compassion for those not ready to stare this powerful truth right in the eye.
It is quite true during the process of "neti, neti" we will gradually cancel out all phenomenal knowledge and return to the unconditioned, natural state of humanity. Everything becomes "deleted" or stilled and we are in quietude.
By all means keep writing on these topics. You can speak on them very clearly :)
Thankyou for taking time to reply back @d-pend. But i actually tagged my poetry and not the article in my previous comment. Seems like you didnt check it. I would be grateful if you have a look at the poem which is tagged HERE. I actually post pictures, quotes, poetry and articles on one single concept. You opened the article instead of the poem about WHO ARE YOU.
Ah ok, yes I came to your blog and saw the title only. I will also check the poem :)
Thankyou. Waiting for your feedback :)
