Because of the rise in bitcoin transaction costs, I am shifting to ripple, litecoin and ethereum. These altcoins have shorter confirmation times, cheaper network fees, and lesser network congestion than bitcoin (though ethereum do sometimes clog up due to the prevalence of ICOs).
if you're looking at the tech for transaction speed and low (or no) fees check out raiblocks (XRB) and iota
