How do I stand out positively between all jobseekers? How do I distinguish myself?
This is what Bauke (31 years) from the Netherlands also thought when he was rejected for a job that 170 people responded to.
Bauke also lives in an area in the Netherlands where not many jobs are available.
It is for him very difficult to find a nice job with an good employer.
What was he going to do then?
He did not just put his motivation in a standard open letter but he adapted the lyrics of a well-known Dutch song, played guitar, recorded it and placed it on LinkedIn and Facebook.
In the video he sings that he is looking for a position as an HR employee.
Very original and daring.
This also struck the local media (television and on the front page in the newspaper) and Bauke was positive in the local news. Even more attention!
I'm sure recruiters thinks:
"YES, I want to see and speak this guy right now!"
And yes indeed next weeks he will be talking to several employers.
