It were 2 fantastic weeks
Finally, after months of searching, our company had found a new regional manager. He would become my manager and his name is Olaf.
He started last week.
At the beginning of this week Olaf shook my hand for the first time and he would officially speak to me end this week.
My first impression:
A young guy who thinks he's very important and likes to talk (really a string bean)
I had already noticed from colleagues that he was quite arrogant.
But I give everyone a fair chance.
Wednesday we received a message that Olaf was immediately dismissed ......
He had not worked for 2 weeks? What happened?
Our new friend Olaf had a meeting with the management in the morning and canceled his appointment in the morning because he was on the side of the road with bad luck and he had to wait for help so that he would be present at the meeting later.
Two hours later the director called to him. He did not answer his phone.
He also did not record his private telephone.
The director had called him several times but he did not respond.
The director started to worry and went to the computer to see where he was with his company car.
There was a GPS system in the company car.
The director saw that the car was not along the highway but for more than 2 hours in a parking lot at a petrol station and he had not been in motion during those 2 hours.
The director and head of Human Resources went to take a pulse.
When they arrived at the car they saw Olaf stretched out in the car. He was sleeping....... for hours.
After knocking on the window several times, Olaf woke up and he was shocked.
My director and head of HR are not really attractive. So when you wake up and see your director first, it is a bit of a shock.
Nothing was wrong with the car.
They have said goodbye to each other immediately.
Olaf, thanks it were 2 fantastic weeks ...
