The Process Through And Through
Like when they started coming after my dad and saying they were going to trespass him, I heard him file a lawsuit and put a preliminary injunction in. Because once you become a defendant, it's harder to fight. You have to become the aggressor and fight that way.
And I'm trying to teach him, I'm like, come on, turn around and sue him for violating your rights, because they talked with your child with no parent. They came in and took his kids, his two younger boys. And it's not like he doesn't have a wife, they're both there.
But they took his kids away. Like, it is very scary how the state is weaponizing against the families here. I should have verified that story with you, because I read that differently, because I'm new to Utah politics.
I just paid more attention to the global stuff that was going on, because I saw the big stuff happening globally, but I was like, oh, I live in Utah, we're safe. And so that's interesting that they are targeting the families in such a way. It makes perfect sense, because we've seen it with Phil Lyman when he went to that protest in southern Utah, with the farmland and stuff.
And so that was a hit. That was a planned hit. I mean, they had news on that guy from the beginning.
Wow. Guys, I don't know about y'all, but I'm glad we had this because I knew on somewhat of a surface level how bad Utah was. And again, Sally, I have to thank you for saying what you said in a space once and sort of tipping me off to this.
But man, I don't know about the rest of y'all in the room tonight, but we're getting more than way more than we bargained for. If stuff is stuff is this bad in Utah, I can't imagine what it's like in, say, Georgia, Virginia, Texas, any of any other states. Yeah, Tennessee, any other states we have in here.
Well, we've heard from Hawaii. We got we've heard from Iowa tonight. But man, this this is just this is just crazy.
Guys, real quick, point of order. I don't want to I don't want to necessarily keep this going for too long. I do want to wrap this thing up by 10 until then.
Let's let's keep it going. OK, so her name is Elizabeth Rasmussen, and she is in charge of whole platform, which allows the Independent Council to determine Utah's decision. She is determined to call people and have them reverse their vote in support of repealing Proposition 4. It's got people.
Let me see. She's determined to call people and have them reverse their vote. So in support, yeah, in support of repealing Prop 4. So let me make sure I wrote that correctly.
I was like, wait a minute. She worked under Mitt Romney's political staff. So she worked under him as a political staff.
That should tell you everything you know about her. And I forgot the foundation that she's a part of that they created in Utah just for these specific type of political attacks on, you know, you get something in the past and never go and try to call people and be like, oh, you know, I think that you're misled. You should probably take her signature because they can reverse it for a certain amount of time.
I don't know. It's ridiculous. I don't think that should be allowed without the signatures.
Allow it to have a vote. You should have a vote. You should have a vote if you if you did everything by the book and you got all the signatures, you met all that you followed the process through and through that you ought to have a vote.
Your personal experience adds a powerful element to this post, helping readers connect with the issue on a deeper level. I'm curious, how do you think your dad's decision to file a lawsuit initially affected the situation, and then his subsequent approach to fighting back? 💼🕊️
