Don't Let School Stop You From Learning

Many people's definition of learning or education is limited. We go to school for 12 or thereabout years to become specialized in something, we step out to the world ready to execute what we have learnt and make some money. Basically, our learning is done.
So Anytime the word 'learning' or education' comes up, our minds immediately connect to school or college.

That right there is where the issue is. The school is just an institution that makes us one skilled pony. And some don't even teach that one skill well or we are ended up been taught an outdated skill or knowledge.
I studied computer science and i remember how most of my lecturers in the university will be passing the information they learnt some 30 or so years back to us. It was obvious, we would be looking at one another smiling. They are 'intelligent' but very outdated.

The world is moving at an amazing pace, the innovations of 5 years ago is a common knowledge to a layman now. You therefore need to constantly keep learning new stuffs and updating your information. To be competive and stay on top of whatever game you are in, you can never stop reading and learning. Besides, apart from making you a specialist in something. School don't especially at the latter stages teach or emphasize the most important information or skill you probably need most. As a computer science student, school will probably teach you how to be a badass programmer and prepare you to go and use it to work for some else. But what if I am only interested in starting up my own tech company, then I will become stucked. School won't teach you skills you can't do without in the real world like how to negotiate, manage your time, relate with other people, multitask and so on.

Conclusion

I have never come across a successful person that doesn't read. Besides, we are the luckiest generation yet, why? Because internet is at a very developed state. It has loads of information, all you have to do is sieve the information, pick the right ones and keep learning. I have seen people lose money and pay someone else on problems they can easily fix themselves by doing a google search. So always take time out of your immediate hustle to learn new things or update your information for few hours every day or week.
