Do you have Steemit goals?

How often do you gaze upwards at the whales' achievement and rewards with so much reverence and awe wishing you were them. We all wish to be like those that are constantly dominating the trending page. Many will only wish but may not even get close to that wish because they have no goals and plans to back up their wishes. I want to believe the whales we look up to didn't attain that status by chance. Great achievers don't get to the top vaguely. You need to have a mental picture and a written down goal of the least you want to achieve every day, every week, every month and every year...

Though goals is just the first step in becoming a whale or whatever you want to become, but like all first steps it is the most important one. Sure you can achieve some level of success without a goal but you will never be the best you can be. One thing I like about goals is that they can be revisited. Maybe at the beginning of your journey your goal is to have 1000 Steem power within a year. You became motivated, the stars are aligned for you and you realized you can actually achieve 1000 SP in just 6 months. Bravo! The smart thing to do is to revisit that goal and raise the bar. You will never know the best you can achieve if you don't set a bar and work towards it.

I may not be able to tell you your steemit goal, only you can do that. Whichever goal(s) you have, they must be specific, realistic, measurable, attainable and be time specific. There are steps you must cross off to make you achieve that goal(s) smoothly.

• To make your Steemit goals easier to achieve, it is wise to mark or identify those that have achieved those specific goals. Watch closely what they do and how they do it. Make them your friends if it is possible and they won't misinterpret it as you soliciting for upvotes.
• Take note of your position, how close and far your are from achieving those. Like in the illustration of achieving 1000 Steem Power by the end of the year. You need to mark how many steem power you currently owned, this will give you an idea of how many steem power you need to achieve this goal.
• Now the next thing will be for you to outline and break down the steps of achieving your goal. If for instance you currently own 100 SP, that means you have to be gaining at least 90 every month to hit the mark. That is you breaking down the main goal into sub goals for clarity.
• Then you need to know the process of achieving that goal. if you are to achieve 1000 SP organically at the end of the year at 90 SP per month, then you need to know the value of upvotes you need, how many posts you will be making every day and stuffs like that.
  Cover all these and you are on your way to achieving your goals and more than average steemain.

Like I said let's it be realistic. When modelling a very successful steemian, you must realise we all came in with different experiences, skills, knowledge, background, investment power etc. The good thing is some of those standard can be improved on to further spring us to achieving that and more goals.
Also I just used the example of 1000 SP to pass the message across clearly. There are good numbers of goals you can set and achievements you can gain. There are goals like number of post in a day, week or month, number of commented, rewards, reputations etc...all of them work together for your steemit success.
I believe this principle applies to achieving greatness in every area of life. So don't wait for luck, make your own by planning.
