Kidnapped by Bigfoot

Theresa Bier, 16, and her friend, 43-year-old Skip Welch left to go on a camping trip at Shuteye Peak, part of the Sierra National Forest. This wouldn't be just any camping trip, however. The pair were determined to capture the mythical Bigfoot that is said to be roaming the woods in the area.

Skip says that the last time he had seen Theresa that day they had been walking down the some of the towpaths of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in hopes of spotting the big man, himself. The pair split off, that's when Skip says he believes Theresa had been carried off by the beast.

Skip Welch was formally arrested for the kidnapping of the 16-year-old after being questioned by Fresno Police. Needless to say, they found Skip's claims of the girl being kidnapped by a mythological creature to be far-fetched. In spite of the skepticism, Welch stuck to his story.

Theresa's body has never been located. A lack of evidence prevented a grand jury from going forward with Welch's trial and instead pressured Welch into signing paperwork which would allow them to pursue the trial if more evidence against him surfaced in the future. Welch's attorney refused to allow him to sign these papers and the prosecution had little choice but to drop the case altogether.

To this day no one except for Skip Welch will ever know what became of Theresa Bier.
