Attempting to Relax...

in #blog6 years ago

If you're saying you are completely cool and relaxed about the current crash in the crypto land, I don't fully believe you, if you have some skin in the game for the long run.

I'm a believer, but still found myself looking at the charts a few times more than needed today, only to witness the see of red every time.

To relax, I decided to go for the option of doing other things to keep mind away from them. Now, to get away from them, I tried to do stuff around the house, but then I returned and saw them again. That's like a form of masochism, I believe.

Not good. I needed something else to do. OK, let's see how the witnesses I voted for are doing, I said to myself, thinking I haven't done that in a while. And so I did.

Surprisingly in a positive way, I think they are holding up and doing their job quite well, as far as I could tell. Not even orange flags in my book, so to speak, maybe a few yellows here and there, but nothing that would constitute a reason to revoke my vote.

I actually couldn't bring myself to unapprove any of the witnesses, not even one from Top 20 who would do fine without my vote, to make room for someone I had an eye for for quite some time and wanted to vote this time: @bobinson. Sorry, I really wanted to vote for you this time, but I guess I was too soft in this rough market to take back a vote from another witness that I previously voted for!

That task being over, I moved on. Let's write the blog post. This will keep me from staying connected to the market.

Then, here are two things I and anyone could do to avoid that uncomfortable picture of the see of red.

I for sure will play some Steem Monsters, as I do every day for a short while lately. If you're in for some fun (and wins), go for it!

If you want another task, here's one for you. @jongolson has just launched a double contest! The first part is as easy as it gets. For the second part, and for the bigger prizes (75 STEEM + 150 SP delegated for a month is the top prize), you'll have to work a bit more and bring new people to SteemSavvy, using your affiliate link. You can see the full details in Jon's post.

That should keep your mind occupied for sure and away from the current prizes in the market. I would've already forgot about it, if I wouldn't had written every two paragraphs about it. :)

What other tricks do you use to stay away from the market in situations like this?

Sort:

I mainly do gardening and walk my dog:D But I trade daily so it doesn't stress me that much now that I know there are always opportunities everyday! So my stress is only when I want ;)

Well, as a day trader you see and think in different patterns. I prefer to trade rarely and to hodl, and as such this is not a best period, except maybe for buying opportunities.
