No, no, no, bar soap is terrible. If you have a reduced odor it is probably caused by all the residue from the bar soap sealing your pores. Take a good look at your tub or shower, that's where the difference is most obvious, isn't it pretty funky in the vicinity of where you have been keeping your bar soap? My inlaws will come and bring their bar soap and then I have to clean off the attendant soap scum.
I have been a big fan of the organic peppermint castile soap, repels ticks.

I forbid my wife from buying it long ago. I've used it occasionally and recently while traveling, it is terrible. I find the biggest factor to how you smell after the shower is how hot you run the shower, if you get too hot and it is hot outside then you will get all sweaty right away and then stink but a cooler shower and then you won't.
