PRE- EXISTENCE OF CHRIST

in #blog7 years ago

In the beginning, Jesus was there. Jn. 1:1
When the heavens were prepared and spread out, Jesus was there.

Before the world was made, Jesus was there.
Christ was glorified with the Father before the world existed. Jn. 17:5
The Father loved the Son before the foundations of the world. Jn. 17: 24
Before there was any fish of the sea, beast of the field, or fouls of the air, Jesus was there.
Before there was a man on the face of the earth, Jesus was there.
He, who was born in Bethlehem and cometh forth as Ruler of Israel has been from everlasting. Mic. 5:2

Jesus, who was David's Lord became David's descendent.
Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, and others rejoiced to see Jesus in His glory:
• “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.” Jn. 8:56
• Moses and others saw the pre-incarnate Christ. Ex. 24: 9-11.
• “These things said Esaias, when he saw His glory, and spake of Him.” Jn. l2:41

The transfiguration of Christ upon the Mount was just a little glimpse of what He looked like before He came to earth, and now that He has ascended back to the Father.
Jesus created all things, then came down and walked on the earth as any ordinary man would walk down a road, etc. but now He is ascended back up to heaven as the Sovereign God of the Universe and that for all eternity.
Stephen said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.” Ac. 7:56
John said “And I saw another Mighty Angel (Jesus) come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon His head, and His face was as it were the sun, and His feet as pillars of fire.” Rev. 10:1
He claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath. Lk. 6:5
And after heaven and earth pass away, Jesus and His Words will yet abide. Mt. 24:35
When the New Heavens and the New Earth come forth, Jesus will be here.
He said, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Rev. 22:13
Really He is Lord of all time, space, and matter. — And Ruler of the Universe!

THE INCARNATION
In Eden God brought forth a motherless woman from the body of a man; in Bethlehem's barn God brought a fatherless man from the body of a woman.
In eternity Christ rested upon the bosom of the Father without a mother; in time He rested on the bosom of a mother without an earthly father.
Jesus of Nazareth was virgin born. It was a miracle.
Gabriel told Mary that “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee.” ( Lk. 1:35) and that Christ would be born of her.
May the Holy Spirit and the power of God also work in us to form the likeness of Christ within us.
What a marvelous mystery ---
That the Infinite Creator of the Universe was incarnate into a helpless little infant cuddled in the bosom of a poor little Jewish virgin mother, born among men, a partaker of flesh and blood, reduced down to a vulnerable man, and susceptible to the common temptations of Adams's race.
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” Heb. 2:14
He had dwelt in bright glory with the Father before the foundations of the world, and yet found Himself in fashion as a man, in the likeness of men, that He might endure death, even the death of the cross.
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Phil. 2:8
The O.T. saints looked forward to the coming of the Messiah and believed in Him as though He had already come for their hope and mercy. We N.T. Saints look back to the Cross of Christ for our forgiveness and salvation.
