in #blog7 years ago (edited)

There are so many stories we can learn in this world, and so many lessons can be taken as motivation and strength for us to live a life full of challenges and trials. Often we are desperate when expectations and desires do not materialize. Though behind it all actually there are things that we should be grateful for our power to rise from adversity. One that we should take lessons and wisdom is the story of the characters below who have colored the civilization of the world with various limitations and challenges to achieve their dreams.

 1. NANCY MATTHEWS EDISON

One day, a 4-year-old boy, slightly deaf and stupid at school, came home with a piece of paper from his teacher. her mother read the paper, "Tommy, mother's daughter, is very stupid. We asked her to get her out of school. "

The mother was shocked to read this letter, but she immediately made a firm determination, "My son is Tommy, not a fool. I myself will educate and teach him. "

Tommy grew into Thomas Alva Edison, one of the world's greatest inventors. She only attended school for about 3 months, and was physically a little deaf, but it was not a barrier to move on.

Not many people know who Nancy Mattews is, but when we hear the name of Edison, we immediately know that he is the most influential inventor in history. Thomas Alva Edison became an inventor with 1,093 invention patents on his behalf. Who would have thought that a stupid deaf boy to be asked to get out of school, could eventually become a genius? The answer is his mother!

Yes, Nancy Edison, Mother of Thomas Alva Edison, did not give up easily with the opinion of the school against her son. Nancy, who decided to become a personal teacher for Edison's home education, has made her son a person who believes that she is meaningful. Nancy is restoring Edison's confidence, and it may be very hard for her. But he did not let the limitations stop him.

 2. STEVE JOBS

In 1976, with his colleague Steve Wozniak, 21-year-old Jobs began to set up Apple Computer.Co in his family's garage. By laboriously collecting the capital gained by selling their most valuable items, the business began. Their first computer, Apple 1 they managed to sell as many as 50 units to a local store. Within a few years, their efforts developed quite rapidly so that in 1983, Jobs hired John Sculley from Pepsi Cola to lead the company. So far, Apple Computer has reaped success and is increasingly embedding its influence in the computer industry especially with the launch of the Macintosh. However, in 1985, after the conflict with Sculley, the company decided to lay off their founder, Steve Jobs himself.

After selling his shares, Jobs who experienced tremendous sadness spent much time with cycling and travel to Europe. However, shortly after, the dismissal apparently brought a new spirit for him. He also started a new business that is NeXT computer company and Pixar animation company. NeXT is actually very advanced in terms of technology was not bringing good results commercially. However, Pixar is another success story thanks to its cold hands. Through Pixar, Jobs brings new trends in the animated film scene along with the release of Toy Story's production film and then Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.

After Jobs and the increasingly strong dominance of IBM and Microsoft make Apple less competitive and almost slumped. then, in 1997, Jobs was recalled to fill a temporary leadership position. By applying the technology designed at NeXT, this time Apple again rose with various technologically advanced products like MacOS X, IMac and one of the phenomenal iPod.

Steve Jobs success story teaches us that there is no instant success. Rejection and failure often color the journey of our lives, but do not let all that stop us.

"My husband, we must keep doing something to keep our dream alive," he said repeatedly to her husband. "Stay alive?" Replied the husband, "Our dreams are dead! We have failed! "

The wife still does not want to believe that the dream is dead. He is not even willing to bury the dream! To keep the dream life alive he invites the husband to design what they will do if one day they become millionaires. Both then start doing this every time they finish dinner.

Time passed and they were still doing the same thing until one day the husband got a brilliant idea: creating a game of money. Namely what items will be purchased if someone has "money", such as land, houses, buildings, etc. This idea they continue to mature. They added game boards, dice, cards, small houses, small hotels, etc. Can you guess what game is this? Yes, exactly! The game was called monopoly. Yes, that's how Charles Darrow and his wife Esther created the game. The game is then sold to a businessman for a million dollars and a millionaire dream comes true!
