"Steptember" Challenge - Post # 01 - Challenge Day # 02
So I'm participating in this thing called the Steptember Challenge..
What is the Steptember Challenge?, one might ask..
Well, the Steptember Challenge is a promise from me that I will walk at least 10,000 steps per day for the entire month of September, starting with yesterday, September 4. In doing this challenge, I am also raising money and awareness for Cerebral Palsey.
It isn't that hard to walk 10,000 steps per day!
The average number of steps a person takes on a daily basis (per the Steptember website) is around 3,000 steps per day. So that means by participating in this challenge, I am promising to more than triple that number every day for a month!
Here is my other promise:
Every post about my participation in this challenge will be 50-50 (SP-SBD).
I will donate every SBD earned from these posts (the liquid portion), once I figure out how to convert the SBD to USD (any help here would be greatly appreciated).
If I reach $100 USD in Liquid Steem (SBD) from these posts, I will match the $100 from my own personal funds (not powering down), and continue to donate the "additional" liquid SBD as long as these posts pay out more SBD.

- General walking around.
- Walking in the park with my wife and son.
- Going for a 15 minute run.
- Walking around my community for another 25 minutes to get closer to 10k steps.
- Walking up and down the stairs in my house to get additional steps.
Step Count on Tuesday, September 5, 2017: 10,470 (plus whatever I do after this post walking around my hotel room)
My activities included:
- General walking around.
- Walking around the airport.
- Walking to the Subway, to Dinner, to my hotel.
- Walking up and down Park Avenue to get additional steps.
Any of my comments in these posts that also earn SBD will have the SBD portion donated.
P.S. If anyone has code to help me keep track of all of this via SteemSQL or another tool, I would greatly appreciate it! I think I have a good way to track it, but I'd like to be sure that I'm 100% accurate in my donations (or at least in the favor of the donating side).
Very nice, good luck!
Thank you :)
I'm hoping to motivate myself more by posting this. I have a team of 3 other people who are going through this with me, so we all provide moral support for each other. It is going to be a true test on weekends and travel days for me!
Ok, it is really nice to give back, you serve as a good example here!
I'm here to provide moral support as well. Keep writing!
Update; Ran 1.6 miles this morning followed by a 2/3 mile cooldown walk. Starting off my day at around 3,500 steps!
