♔♞♙ Chess Puzzle of the Day

puzzle position | posicion del problema

*** White to play and checkmate ***

A useful puzzle to exercise a bit of variation tree calculation, where you have to consider some moves and discard others and it turns out to be the dominant thinking technique that grandmasters and other chess players usually follow when thinking during their games. Fortunately, it is not a puzzle of great depth and it is about finding mate and not finding a way to realize a potential advantage with a greater one. What do you expect? Build your mental variation tree.

Do you want to exercise your tactical skills a little? Then solve this chess puzzle. Indicate the correct move and a full continuation. If you want, you can point out the tactical motives and other patterns present.

I also want to invite you to participate in the weekly #SteemChess tournament, promoted by @schamangerbert and held every Saturday through lichess.org. If you play chess online, join in! Free registration.

Maybe You would like to see my plan of studies for following semester: https://steemit.com/steemiteducation/@maciejficek/my-plan-for-following-semester-1st-year-of-master-s-studies-mathematics

Your move is correct, because it wins the game easily. Although it's a matter of finding the checkmate! Thanks for participating and I wish you good luck with your studies.

There are so many options here but for your suggestion; below is a forced checkmate.

Qc7+ Kf6
if queen move anywhere exact f6 then checkmate
Bg5+
king only has one move Kg5
Qg7+ Kh6
Black king has only two moves, if Kh5 then checkmate
Pg4+ Kh4
If queen x pawn checkmate
Qh7 mate
