More than for a couple of days I was missing, and in the end, having staggered for about a day or two, I crawled to my brother and he had to settle my differences with my parents. But this time it was different, and for the first time in my life, I had my hand up, and for a very trivial reason. When I got the yellow stars in front of my eyes, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't even give up, even though at that moment I could fight just as well as any boy.
This time I for some reason did not flare up and did not immediately jump out crying, disheveled and half-dressed on the street, for some reason my head began to work in a very unusual form for me, namely - I began to think everything over. Without emotion, cold and calculating. That is, I will go anyway, I do not forgive such resentments, but I need somewhere to live, something to eat, somewhere to wash and wash clothes. I'm not some kind of teenager, I'm already quite an adult, smart and independent 14-year-old girl - so I thought then. I'll grow up, become another Coco Chanel or a woman's reincarnation of Bill Gates - let them envy me, the bastards, and I won't share the money with them, the poor bastards, they won't know!
And just at that moment I remembered about Lena, or rather that he lives alone and he always has problems with money. Waiting for my parents to leave on their own business, I packed two large bags, one containing all my clothes and the other one containing all the food I could reach on the shelves and which I should have had the strength to carry in my hands. I also grabbed a few golden trinkets, which my family gave me for all kinds of holidays, and for some reason took everything but the gifts of my parents. I have never worn them anyway, and in general, gold is not my subject, but I thought that if you sell them, then there will be enough money for life for the first time. And with all this good, I was warming up in the yard next door to Lena, where... where it turned out that he hadn't been home for a week because he had been admitted to a hospital with gastritis. And in the process, Nastenka had no choice but to move through half of the city to the first city hospital with these bags.
To say that Lenya was surprised when I showed up at him like this and asked him not to say anything, but nevertheless, keeping the expression on his face completely fucked up, he gave me the keys, after which we still had half an hour of rubbing on the bench in the hospital park, complained about each other's fucked-up lives and I went to live in Lenchikova's apartment. Well, how to "settle in" as soon as I got there - I started to remake everything in my own way, trying to clean everything, clean it up, paint something, move the furniture in a human way, in general, turn the bachelor pad of a untidy teenager into a habitable place to live. And I even managed it, despite the fact that when Lenny returned from the hospital, some of the furniture had to be put back in its place.
