What is Motivation and are you motivated?

What is motivation? By definition, it is the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. In reality, though that is so simplistic because of the reason or reasons that we complete a certain action, in my opinion, are not always because of motivation and in reality, it is of necessity.

Do you go to work and work the job that you have because you're motivated or do you work your job because you have to. Because you have a wife, husband or child or even just yourself that you have to support. Do you repeat the same mundane activities day in and day out and have you lost sight of what your goals are or what your dream was.

There's been a lot of time I felt like this. Motivation has a different meaning to me. For me, it means that you have to always be prepared to be uncomfortable. To never stop striving and pushing towards your ultimate goal or dream. Many of us, however, fall into a state of comfort. We become okay with what we have but in all actuality how many of us can say were truly happy with everything that we've accomplished our everything that we have now. For the many of us that are currently in this state what is our excuse? When there are so many people who are less fortunate or have been dealt a bad hand and continually strive to live their life to the fullest. Why are many of us okay with not being like those people?

In the end, I think a lot of this mentality is attributed to words. We are the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions that we are told as children. We are the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions that we tell ourselves every day. Many of us do not here enough that “I believe in you”. So for those people who haven't had someone say this to him “I believe in you, I believe in you, I believe in you”. I don't know any of you here personally but I still believe in you. Everybody can accomplish more than they think they can and sometimes all that's needed is someone to believe even if that person is just a stranger.
