365 Days of Writing #3 - Are you content?
Are you content? I am certainly not content in any form or fashion. If I was I wouldn't be attempting to make myself any better than I am now and that would be a disservice to myself and my loved ones!
There are a few areas where I am not content and I'm in a constant battle to improve in these areas.
- SteemIt: At this point, I am happy with the progress that I have made here. I have a little over 50 followers, over 2000 steem power and just reached rep 63 today. I feel like I could have made more progress here if I was able to be more active. However, SteemIt does not pay my bills (wish it did) and I have no plans of SteemIt ever paying my bills. Thus, my work life and family life take precedent over SteemIt. I will continue to work hard here and try to budget more time for this site so that I can be apart of the growth of this website.
Investment/Savings: I have a student debt currently and my wife and I have paid a great deal of it off. First step it to get rid of that. I also took my first steps into really investing for the future and managed to max out my Roth IRA (this past year) and will be maxing my 403(b) this coming year along with my Roth IRA again. The earlier I can retire the better, or at the least be able to take a job that stressed me out less than the one that I currently have. Since my wife and I have no idea to live expensively it is a bit easier for us to save. Although, we like to travel and that can be expensive depending on what/where we decide to do and go.
Family: I will always try to grow and better myself for the sake of my family. I want to be the best person that I can be for my wife and I definitely want to be the best father that I can be when we do finally have kids.
Am I happy with my life? Absolutely! But am I content no, and I'm not sure that I will ever be "content". I believe that I will always have some way that I can improve and or grow regardless of situation or age. How about you are you content? In which ways are you/are you not content?
