Tips for writing for non-native English speakers...
One way to express your thoughts is by creating a blog. If you are non-native English speaker, trying to get everyone to understand what you have written can be a huge challenge so I'll try to give you some tips to boost your confidence when writing a blog in English.
1. Read, read, read.
If you are learning a foreign language, then you should be reading in it. Reading books and magazines exposes you to more sentences per minute than the average television show. It is amazing how helpful this can be. It will improve your understanding of technical jargon, grammar and sentence structure.
2. Write, write, write.
Before you publish any article, try practicing first. If possible, try to engage in chat conversations and forums and write according to your skills. In my experience, it's better not to be too hard on yourself, write a few lines about what you did or about your opinion of something. When you keep on writing, you will realize that you have started to become a better writer.
3. Get your writing checked.
I encourage you to keep your dictionary at hand for the editing stage. You can also try using sites such as www.italki.com or www.lang-8.com as both offer free corrections. I'd also advise you to learn from other bloggers whose English is impeccable.
4. Do not overreach yourself
Keep it simple. If you want to create a blog, you don’t need to make use of difficult sounding words. The point of writing a blog is to convey your thoughts. Just keep in mind that learning is always a gradual process. The more you write, the better you will become but there is no guarantee that you will ever be able to produce literrature.
5. Be open to criticism.
Learning involves being ready to discuss your own work... it is inevitable to commit mistakes =)
These are good tips, followed them for years. Exept checking - had noone to check me:)
