I've been learning and self teaching myself filming/editing/sound/lighting as well. It can be frustrating but also another form of fun artwork. I'm glad you're giving up perfection, it , like Utter Happiness, I think are constructs invented to be the carrot on a stick to keep us churning forwards, better to be happy in the moment I say.
