I guess it's because I'm an old fart — and I well remember the days before the Internet and mobile phones — that the thought of having an "analog day" or even several doesn't bother me too much. Our kids, on the other hand (they are 27, 30 & 32) pretty much lose their minds if the connection is lost.

I love social media, and have been on it for almost 20 years, through various forms. For me, the great attraction of THIS community was that its earliest incarnation was a lot like the "social blogging" that started in the late 90's and eventually died at the hands of MySpace and Facebook. Things have changed here, though... even in just three years. Money/rewards have a way of revealing the uglier truths of people... we end up more concerned about "doing well" than simply participating.

I haven't ever rage quit here mostly because I'm enjoying what I am doing... even as some people carpet bomb the place with automated nuclear mushroom clouds.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when/if the price of Steem drags itself back up to several dollars again.
