Outlast 1 | Final thoughts after discovering all the mysteries in the psychiatric hospital
Outlast 1 was a very pleasant experience, the developers clearly know how to transmit a tense environment to the player and you can even notice the character's breathing becomes nervous when there is an enemy nearby, which by the way, is very helpful when we are totally in the dark.
This is a perfect game for jumpscares. There are many of these moments throughout the game and eventually one becomes an expert in escaping and hiding.
It turns out that in the game we have some religious fanatics, but they actually have little to do with what really happens in the main plot. These fanatics are crazy people who saw things they could not explain and this further deteriorated their already damaged sanity.
The design of the entire game is quite macabre and can offend or make sensitive people really nervous. In the following screenshot we can see a scene related to the character known as father or priest. Notice the macabre scene on the right.
Earlier, I told you that the most powerful enemy was the fat giant, but it turns out that at the end of the game we discovered something that is infinitely worse, because the fat man is at least a human being, evil, crazy and violent, but a human being nonetheless. At the end of the game, what we discovered is something on another level, and even worse, it has no solution:
Now I am exploring the Whistleblower DLC that explains the history of the hospital employee who leaks information to the main game journalist to explore. The dynamics are exactly the same and I was expecting something a bit different, but at the moment everything is quite similar and we even have a camera just like the journalist. The next article will be about anything I discover playing the DLC.
