Outlast 1 | After so many atrocities in the psychiatric hospital there is some hope in the end

To start a spoiler warning:

After finishing the main game, I automatically started playing the expansion to learn more about the sequence of events that ends in a disaster of epic proportions, this time from the point of view of a former employee in the hospital.

At the beginning of the game we see the new character send the email to the journalist to investigate everything that happened in this mysterious place, thus starting the events that we already saw in the main game.

Things go wrong for this employee because the corporation that manages everything that happens in this hospital discovers him, and they decide to register him as if he were one patient, in order to subject him to all kinds of macabre experiments. From there, the dynamics are the same as the main game, that is, we must seek to escape from a place inhabited by aggressive madmen (and a mysterious being with a supernatural appearance) and our only tool is a camera with night vision.

This game has scenes that are even more shocking than the main one, and despite the fact that in the main one our character suffers mutilations in a very violent scene. As an example, I uploaded the following scene that may even surprise people used to to watching bloody movies. Note that what we see in the roof are not animals, I think getting something more macabre than this is almost impossible. Although I still have to play Outlast 2 ...

From time to time, this game delights the player by surprising us with images like this one just when we are escaping from another enemy and right after we manage to get into the air duct, we suddenly find this:

At the end of the DLC we can see the following fire through a window, which indicates that this game begins as a prequel, but eventually becomes contemporary with the main one, since the beginning of the fire is witnessed by the journalist near the end of the main game.

The title of this post is because unlike the dramatic end of the main game, in the expansion we can see that all the horrors committed in this place, together with its frightening results that border on the paranormal (without becoming paranormal) all of this ends up finally being published so that the world can learn about what happened. In spite of everything, the end of this story ends up being the happiest and most fair thing we can have.

The next thing for me will be to start exploring Outlast 2, although I will probably decide to first try another game that I already have installed called The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. In addition, there is also the possibility that I decide to install Tropico 6 which is a strategy game and looks quite interesting. My exploration regarding Outlast 2 will start very soon, but maybe not immediately.
