Final thoughts on Enderal and Skyrim
Having finished Enderal a few days ago, it's time to write an article about it as a conclusion of what has been one of the best video games I've ever played in my life.
The first thing is to explain that Enderal is a Skyrim mod, as I mentioned in previous articles, Skyrim is one of those games that allows the community to create modifications of all kinds. What makes Enderal different, is that rather than being something like a DLC for Skyrim, it is instead a completely independent game with its own exe file, its own story, characters, etc ... The only thing that is shared is the graphic engine and the type of graphics.
I have read that Enderal's map is 3 times larger than Skyrim's but I couldn't confirm it, I played Skyrim many years ago and I remember that it was quite extensive, but also having Enderal fresh in my memory I must say that this map is on par with anything we can find on a AAA game. It is varied, it is huge, with many places to explore and a lot of variety in the enemies. I thought there were no dragons but one day I suddenly found something looking like an ancient temple where in addition to a dragon there was also a soul (in total there are 20 souls that one can collect in the game). About dragons, having already finished the game I can say there are 3 dragons, but you can only fight with 1.
Regarding the missions, Enderal also does great. There is a great variety of side missions, some of them quite epic, and others of more regular missions, but this is typical in these games.
The main story on the other hand, is something truly amazing. The story gets more and more interesting and twisted as we advance, and I really think that this story has the potential to be recreated in a movie or series, it is truly epic and original with moments that will remain forever in the gamer's memory. It is easy to understand why many people say that Enderal's story is superior to Skyrim's. What I can say is that it is a much more psychological and profound story, in a sense the end of Enderal can be much more satisfying than that of Skyrim.
These are some screenshoot after finishing the game, even if you don't know the context, we must admit that it looks quite intriguing
Notice the small silhouettes going up to what seems to be Heaven? ...
The music is also quite good, but less varied and less epic than that of Skyrim.
It has been awesome to be able to enjoy again something that could well be called a The Elder Scroll. Now it's time to keep waiting for some years for Skyrim's successor, The Elder Scroll VI to come out.
For now the next games I will install will be horror and an adventure called Firewatch and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. In the next few days I will write about this game if I find it fun.
As I wanted to continue exploring open worlds, it is likely that I also end up installing Fallout 4, which is the other great saga of Bethesda only that instead of medieval worlds full of magic and epic stories, the Fallout saga is about an apocalyptic future. And of course, for December I will be installing The Witcher 3, the same month in which the Netflix series of this same story is also released.
