Benefits of carrots and Vitamin A

We know carrots are such an essential root vegetable to be consumed by everyone on a daily basis. But, knowing why it is important is essential as the answers encourages us to eat them more than we eat before. Thanks to carrots, it can be eaten in various forms like raw, cooked, or even juice.

So, coming to the benefits of the items, the most important is that it is rich in beta carotene, with which the essential vitamin for eyes which is vitamin A is produced. This is important for improvement in immunity, eye health and so on. Carrots are the best when we want a high amount of vitamin A. In addition, it offers us a significant amount of fibre and vitamins C, D, and K.

In order to get a better eye health, we should consider having carrots daily. This is because the main nutrients in carrots which are beta carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin play a vital role to improve your eye health. Therefore, eating carrots or drinking the juice on a daily basis certainly helps in terms of our eye health. It prevents heart diseases. The main problem for heart disease is high cholesterol which can be reduced by consuming high amounts of carrots.

A group of Swedish scientists discovered that these root vegetables can reduce the chances of having a heart attack. A study conducted at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Italy found that those who ate more carrots had a 1/3rd risk of heart attack as compared with those who ate fewer carrots. Consuming adequate amount of carrots helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and having carrot juice regularly can help reduce the risk of different types of cancer.

A derivative of vitamin A, known as retinoic acid, found abundantly in sweet potato and carrots, helps turn pre-cancer cells back to normal healthy breast cells, which may help explain why some clinical studies have been unable to see a benefit of vitamin A on cancer: the vitamin doesn’t appear to change the course of full-blown cancer, only pre-cancerous cells, and only works at a very narrow dose. Thank you @dcrypto! My favorite way to eat carrots is to steam them with a little butter. Also just found a new recipe that I love for Maple Glazed Carrots! And shredded in salad! I have never been big on juicing but I like the carrots as a vitamin juice for my health.

Over the passed ten years or so, I found that the number one limiting factor to the strains of flues or cold that are going around the area of the world where I lived was Vit A!

I love carrots, especially carrot juice.
I used to drink it a lot when I was a kid, as it is a good for the eyes. Never helped in that way (wearing glasses for a long time), but still, I enjoy this vegetable! :)
