I Was At The 99 Cent Only Store And A Woman Hands This To Me
I guess the woman knew that my car was older than 1999. Actually I was with my 1989 Nissan Sentra. I wrote many blogs about that car. I even had people that wanted to buy it and I told them that it was not for sale.
So yes, that car may be old, but I like driving it more than my other cars. Of course I like older cars anyway. I mentioned before of my 93 Honda Accord and 91 Chevy S10 pickup. So all my vehicles will fall under that category of 1999 or older.
Like I said, before in other blogs about my 89 Nissan Sentra, it does have a newer motor and a newer transmission than it's original. You see I put in a used Japanese motor and a used Japanese transmission back around 2005.
The used Japanese motors and transmissions usually only have about 30,000 to 40,000 miles on them. Also earlier this year I put in a new clutch. So I am not about to turn in my car for a $500 voucher.
Of course all my cars can pass smog here in California. I will mention that California does have it's own vehicle emissions laws, which in most cases are tougher than the Federal vehicle emissions laws.
So I really don't want to turn in any of my cars into this program.
Look at the finer print. They will take your car and they want to replace it with a 2011 or newer model. Do you see the agenda, to take away your car and have you buy a newer car? I just wonder if they will get those people on a subprime auto loan that will go for this program.
I don't like subprime auto loans. I personally think they are a trap, just like the subprime home loans were a trap to them that loss their houses during 2008-2009 financial crisis.
Can you imagine having a subprime auto loan and something happens and you can't make those payments and you lose your car? What if that was your only car?
That is why I like buying older cars in cash and fix them up to run right. I can afford doing it that way.
