My wardrobe is colorful. And yours?

in #blog6 years ago

Yesterday I have been reading the news as I do every day and I came across news that, incredible as it may seem, did not surprise me at all. The minister of the new family ministry, Mrs. Damares Alves made the following statement during her inaugural address:

"These are new times, where boys wear blue and girls wear pink."

Madame, I regret to inform you, but this country you are referring to is not Brazil. My people mostly do not think so and never think, simply for a little detail ... this is not part of our DNA. Brazil is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural country. We are a country that has the doors open to the world, we are a happy, humble, captivating people. There are yes people homophobic, but they are not the majority, it is a minority that makes a lot of noise and for that reason it has appeared so much.

Damares and the guava tree

As I said at the beginning of this article, thoughts like this one expressed by the new minister do not surprise me, neither by her nor by other members of the new government team, after all they are all indications of Jair Bolsonaro, and probably share many opinions.
Perhaps the greatest, "or only" motivation of this lady to have a thought of such a homophobic character is religious. She, like most of the new government team, is Protestant. He recently made another polemical statement claiming to have been sexually abused in his childhood and when he climbed into a guava tree to commit suicide, looking down he saw Jesus Christ who came up to embrace her.

And please do not confuse things, pedophilia is something extremely serious and people should be free to have their religious beliefs but it stops there! This should not serve to control other people's lives and decide for them what they should like, what they should think, what they should be ... This is authoritarian, terrible and inhumane. What an irony, all this starting from the Ministry of Family and Human Rights!

Who chooses the color I use is me!

Today, when questioned about the unfortunate phrase, she refused to retract and said no rights won will be lost. Well, that way your sentence completely loses its meaning, after all if I decide to wear a pink shirt or my wife wear blue, who will stop us? I think hypocrisy is already overtaking, is not it?

It is no wonder that the State wants to completely control people's lives, but I will soon warn you that it will not be easy as you think. We will not allow our freedom to be dissolved by anyone, nor by any pretext used for this sole purpose. Let us show that Brazil is much more than you think and wants it to be, we will not let them choose for us what we should want or be. Enough, live and let us live!

Sorry for the hype, but when it comes to upholding people's right to be free, I can not help it.
And you, what do you think about that? Please reply and upvote.
