THE HOMELAND 🇵🇭
I love my country Philippines and I'm proud to be called Filipino.
Philippines is an archipelago, like a real mother she has given us so much.
She has nurtured our growth as a nation.
She has given us a home, a colorful history, a rich heritage.
Now we breathe the fresh air of freedom and democracy.
Because I love my country, I respect its resources and symbols.
It is important that we give due importance and honor to the symbols of our country's greatness.
It was saddened to know that our environment is a fast-dwindling resource in today's time.
The pollution created by unrecycled waste and garbage on earth, land and sea may soon turn this country into a wasteland.
If we do love our country and respect our environment then let us help altogether by doing hand in hand in monitoring logging for indiscriminate destruction of our forest exposes the soil to erosion and disturb the natural niches of birds and beasts.
We must demand unwavering vigilance on the part of the authorities entrusted with their care.
There is another way of showing love of the country. It is patriotism.
Like many soldiers have died in battle in order to defend our country from invasion.
Every nation would like to gain the best for it's members.
Each would want itself to stand tall in the United Nations and be proud to call itself by its name.
Every Filipino would like to be proud of being a Filipino.
But that pride can be taken to be mere boastfulness if it has no basis.
If we Filipinos build a reputation of being the most cowardly and irresponsible citizens on earth, then why take pride of being one?
Patriotism is important. There are more than enough heroes and heroines to boast about on our history books.
But patriots are not to be found only in the pages of history books.
Every citizen who faithfully performs his duties to his family and to society, who supports the government in its efforts to govern justly and peacefully is a patriot just as much as the soldier who dies in defense of his country.
When our countrymen heeded the call for unity and supported the movement that changed the leadership of the country, we gained prestige and honor as a nation.
But when we become apathetic and negligent in our support for the principles of good government and brotherhood, we suffer the contempt and antipathy of other nations.
Thus, we must defend our country's name by our way of life that is ruled by the principles of love and justice, and brotherhood, rather than by our protests and oratory.
The secret to patriotism is right where we are. Since we are capable of the best, we should strive to reach a degree of humaneness in school and at home.
This is @cinderz always saying:
"Keep the fire 🔥 burning."
It is so disheartening to see the nature being torn apart by our cofilipinos...
Exactly mam.. Soon the "better place" they called will soon be a place of illusion..
