You heard me right? The great Pyramid has a large "unknown" void in their center, according to scientists. Maybe a UFO parking spot?

What is inside? The age old debate, with researchers unable to truly catch a glimpse of the inner-workings of the monolithic structures. But a new discovery only deepens that mystery. The discovery is a huge room with an unknown purpose!

They have been using a technique called muography, which can sense density changes inside large rock structures.

The “ScanPyramids Big Void,” as scientists are calling it, is around 98 feet long and about 50 feet high. The investigators don’t know what’s inside this void or what its purpose is. Nor do they have any way to currently access it.

Said Mehdi Tayoubi, a co-founder of the ScanPyramids project and president of the Heritage Innovation Preservation Institute.

It could be composed of one or several structures... maybe it could be another Grand Gallery. It could be a chamber, it could be a lot of things.”

One of the team leaders, Hany Helal from Cairo University, believes the void is too big to have a pressure-relieving purpose, but concedes the experts will debate this.

The non-invasive technique has been developed over the past 50 years to probe the interiors of phenomena as diverse as volcanoes and glaciers. It has even been used to investigate the failed nuclear reactors at Fukushima.

Khufu (the structure in question) contains compartments that experts believe may have been incorporated by the builders to avoid collapse by relieving some of the stress of the overlying weight of stone.

The higher King’s Chamber, for example, has five such spaces above it.

Made under the watch of the Pharaoh Khufu and completed in around 2550 BC, Egypt's Great Pyramid, or the Pyramid of Giza, served as the world's tallest man-made construction for thousands of years.

The structure, also known as Khufu's Pyramid, is the sole survivor of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World.

What Can We Say Of This?

Not much now, further research and developemnnt into the project is neccessary to find conclusive evidence, all we know now is there is a large, most likely unused room at the heart of the Pyramid.

A mystery that hopefully doesn't involve aliens fighting over humans for parking space 😉
