How to save wet electronics

in #blog8 years ago (edited)

Everyone has ever been pounding, without asking, his phone or computer with water, coffee, and what not. The feeling is not very pleasant, especially if this causes the device to malfunction. This is why we will see what the first steps are for rescuing the drowning man.
What destroys phones, laptops and any technique is the short circuit. That's why when we flood them, the first thing we have to do is shut down the device and stop any electricity.

In mobile phones, this is down to battery removal, and for laptops (this is the case with the battery also here) and computers, for example, to power off.

Disassembly is the next step we need to take because the water will not evaporate in the enclosed space. We have to dismantle everything we can - with laptops, that means removing the keyboard.

Drying follows. We also need to be careful here because excessive heat can also damage the device if the water fails.
So far with the water because it is probably the easiest case. When we have "drowned" our technique with car, coffee or other sugary drinks, things do not look so easy. Dismantling and drying also go into the exercise, but to prevent stickiness, we need to treat the device with alcohol.

The phones are a little more complicated, because it's not that simple. Therefore, when we remove the battery (if possible), we must put it in something that absorbs moisture - rice, for example.

As much as we wet the device, we need to wait at least 24 hours before turning it on again.
