SAILOR IN THE STREET
I swear you can find the coolest clothes at thrift shops. In this case I'm talking about this navy jacket with corduroy accents that has me feeling straight nautical. To be honest, I'm borrowing the jacket for the day from a thrifty friend (I highly encourage clothes sharing!) but that means I only have one chance to get this right.
The result is my take on a Sailor with an interest in streetwear. The base is a white t-shirt with black safety pins forming a DIY accent around the collar. Sailors in my head are crafty and good with their hands so it made sense to me. To complement the shirt I wore thick black leggings with a nice pattern and zippers on the hips. For the pavement I picked my beige adidas skate shoes. I went with beige because when combined with the corduroy on the jacket, I'm reminded of the wood finish of a ship. And as a streetwear sailor, my clothes make up my ship.
You could also say my blue hair is the waves of the ocean always present with the passing of ships, but that part was unintentional, and maybe I'm getting carried away with the nautical references here...
