Neither Was Their Place Found
But it also reflects on the fact that even though there was darkness, because of the corruption of the scriptures, God preserved his word and fed his church. Thy words were found and I did eat them and thy word was unto me, the joy and rejoicing of mine heart, for I am called by thy name. So now where do we go from verse six, we go to verse seven.
SourceAnd John next flashes back to heaven, we've already read this, but we're taking it verse by verse. And we're seeing that there is no sequence of events. There are flashbacks.
And there is, you know, Christ is resurrected there in verse five. And yet we see in verse 10, that he's going to be crucified. So again, we need to understand, we can be so thrown off if we think that this is sequential, all these events are sequential, they simply are not.
So we're looking at a flashback to there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels and prevailed not, neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out of heaven, that old serpent called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world. He was cast out into the earth and his angels were cast out with him.
Yea, have God said, and twisting it just enough to put one little word in there, N-O-T, and causing Eve to get off balance and actually fall prey to his seeds of deception, and sin and start all this horrible sin problem that we experience. Did you notice that he's called the dragon, the serpent, the devil, and Satan in chapter 4, verse nine. As a dragon, he persecutes the church.
As a serpent, he uses his subtle lies to deceive the world by distorting the scriptures, as I just mentioned there in Genesis three, where the Lord told right off the bat, now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, have God said, you shall not eat of every tree in the garden. All right.
